Arlington House

Arlington House, on a hill overlooking the U.S. Capitol, is now a memorial to Robert E. Lee who lived there with his family before the Civil War.
The Georgian-Revival house was built by George Washington’s adopted grandson George Washington Parke Custis, the father of Lee’s wife.
