Viansa Winery tasting in the MarketplaceWhen visiting Viansa it’s quite easy to believe that you’ve somehow been transported to Tuscany. Poised atop a hilltop knoll at the entrance to Sonoma Valley, Viansa is modeled after an ancient Tuscan convent, complete with a red-tiled roof, hand-painted frescoes, massive doors, and courtyard fountains.
Wetlands and vineyards view from Viansa WinerySurrounded by acres of vineyards as well as lush gardens, olive trees, and outdoor sculpture, the property offers stunning views of its 90-acre wetlands preserve, a haven for wildlife. Viansa’s original owner, a member of Sonoma’s Sebastiani wine family, wanted the winery to honor his Italian heritage, and he certainly succeeded.

But Viansa’s most popular attraction by far is the Marketplace, a large shopping area filled with tempting artisan crafts, Viansa’s own culinary line of products (Cucina Viansa), cookbooks, wine and cooking gadgets, and more.
You can purchase sandwiches, salads, and other goodies in the deli, as well as pizza from the wood-burning oven, and enjoy them at picnic tables overlooking the stunning Carneros wetlands.
