Napa Cellers and Folie a Deux tasting roomNapa Cellars is owned by the well-known Trinchero winemaking family, which owns many other labels including Sutter Home (one of the nation’s largest wineries), Newman’s Own, Folie à Deux, Montevina, Trinity Oaks and Trinchero.
The family got its winemaking start back in 1948, when two brothers from an Italian wine family, immigrants John and Mario Trinchero, moved to St. Helena and bought the abandoned 1874 Sutter Home winery.
On a visit here you’ll be able to taste wines under two labels: Napa Cellars and Folie à Deux.
Napa Cellars and Folie a Deux in Oakville CAThe domed tasting room—once the winery’s barrel room—retains the original brick floor and has a warm, inviting feel, but is often crowded because Napa Cellars is one of the first wineries along Highway 129 after leaving the town of Napa.
You’ll find plenty of inviting logo clothing, wine accessories, and “wine-country lifestyle” goodies for sale. The small picnic grounds, bordered by olive trees and beautiful gardens, is for the use of visitors, so consider bringing a picnic.

Fascinating Fact:

When Bob Trinchero created the world’s first White Zinfandel in 1972, it soon became the best-selling premium wine in the US. Trinchero later earned a Distinguished Service Award from the Wine Spectator because he had introduced more Americans to table wine than anyone in history.
