Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
-------------------------------------------------
Rutherford Grove is owned by the Pestoni Family, which has resided in Napa Valley since a Swiss ancestor settled here in the late 1880s.
Owner Andy Pestoni grew up in St. Helena, but wasn’t interested in wine until the year he worked the harvest at Beaulieu Vineyard during college. He caught the “wine bug” and went on to work at Ferrari-Carrano in Sonoma. A few years later his father and uncle bought an old wine property in Rutherford and asked Andy to help them start a new winery—and the rest is history.
Although Rutherford Grove is on a heavily-traveled stretch of Highway 29, you’ll feel removed from the hustle-bustle on a visit. The grounds are lush and beautiful, dotted artfully with old farm equipment. The spacious tasting room contains a large wooden bar, and it's charmingly decorated with recycled materials from the former ranch on this site.
On a cold winter day, with a fire burning, it’s a warm and cozy place to spend time. In warm weather, a particularly lovely picnic area is set aside for visitors to the tasting room.
Fascinating Fact:
The industrious Petroni Family also owns a B&B in nearby Calistoga, a grapeseed oil company, and a local garbage company.
