Van Der Heyden Vineyards
An Unpretentious Napa Valley Winery
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
If your idea of wine tasting involves stunning architecture, gorgeous gardens, spiffily-dressed employees, and an immaculate tasting bar struck from high-end marble…well, go elsewhere, because Van Der Heyden Vineyards is probably not your kind of place.
On the other hand, if you care far more about the quality of wine you’re tasting rather than the tasting’s surroundings, you might very well become a Van Der Heyden fan.
These wines have wildly enthusiastic fans (in particular for the Late Harvest Cabernet, a rare wine that is singled out by critics time and again for its excellence).
The word most frequently used to describe Van Der Heyden Vineyards is “unpretentious,” followed by such adjectives as low-key, laid-back, and super-casual. This winery is also known for being family-friendly, a place where it’s okay to let your kids run around and have fun.
Andrew Van Der Heyden got his start creating fine wines with a one-day course in how to make wines at home.
