Hall Winery St. Helena
St. Helena location of Hall Winery (also in Rutherford)
Napa Valley & Sonoma Wine Tasting Tours
Hall Winery is owned by Craig and Kathryn Walt Hall. A successful businesswoman, Kathryn was also the U. S. Ambassador to Austria from 1997 to 2001.
Craig Hall is chairman and founder of Dallas-based Hall Financial Group, the author of numerous business and financial books, and is a former part-owner of the Dallas Cowboys football team. Kathryn’s winemaking roots date from 1972, when the Walt family began growing grapes in Mendocino County (she managed her family’s vineyard from 1982-1992).
The site occupied by Hall Winery was originally established as a winery in 1885.
There’s a pleasant, high-energy buzz in the Hall Winery tasting room. Contemporary art is everywhere, much of it from the Halls’ private collection. In addition, a rotating exhibit features a range of artists working in different media.
You’ll sample wines at the counter or while relaxing in the arbor-covered courtyard. A tour offers a chance for barrel tasting future vintages and Estate wines. If you’re still curious about Hall wines, visit their modern Rutherford winery, where you can taste premium wines deep within the 14,000-square-foot cave system.
From World War II and through most of the remaining 20th century, Hall winery was known as the Napa Valley Co-op, a primary winemaking facility.
